Place du Canada: Generative Art Canvas

Montreal’s emblematic Place du Canada selected design firm Bluespace and Float4’s team to collaborate on a bold architectural statement entitled LightWall, located at the building’s entrance. The artistic integrations formed by 67 000 pixels are activated by visitor movements and reveal the city’s landmarks: the Saint Lawrence River, the Olympic Stadium and Habitat 67. As a generative art piece, LightWall is a breathing representation of the city’s moods and offers a unique experience at each and every visit. In the coming years, local artists will be invited to showcase their own experimental pieces – making it the city’s largest interior luminous canvas of creation.
